The following courses are offered for 2010.

All classes will be conducted in Clifton Hill.

Comprehensive introductory Tarot course
(20 weeks)

This course is ideal for:

  • Those of you who have 'dabbled' with the cards and now wish to consolidate and expand your Tarot understandings
  • Those of you who have done a short introductory course or workshop that has inspired you to now develop a more thorough understanding of the cards
  • It is also an appropriate choice for complete novices to the world of Tarot cards.

Using the Waite-Smith style Tarot decks (that include the Rider-Waite deck, the Universal Tarot deck, the Radiance Tarot deck and the Diamond Tarot deck), the course provides students with a thorough foundation in the basics of Tarot cards and their use.

One of the aims of the course is to have students develop to the point where they can conduct meaningful readings without the need to refer back to textbooks or notes.

The course includes:

  • Study of both Major and Minor Arcana
  • An historical overview
  • Examination of card symbolism and esoteric associations
  • Card interpretation
  • Introduction to several commonly used spreads
  • Practice in reading and interpreting spreads
  • Discussion of ethical considerations
  • Detailed accompanying notes
  • Review of books and decks available
  • A Certificate of Completion.

These are active classes that encourage lots of student participation and co-operation in the learning process.

Class sizes are restricted to ensure an atmosphere of intimacy, warmth and trust.

Advanced Tarot course

This 16-WEEK course is designed for people who already work with the Tarot cards and now wish to further develop and expand their Tarot knowledge and skills.

The course will focus on many important aspects of the Tarot in much greater detail than is possible in a standard Tarot course. With each topic, students will have the chance to acquire new understandings and then apply these, at the same time gaining feedback from other participants and myself.

There will be an emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning, with individual, paired and whole group activities.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Spend quality time with like-minded people who share your passion for the Tarot, in a warm, comfortable environment
  • Apply and advance your existing Tarot knowledge and skills.

Topics to be covered include:

  • The Court Cards
  • Tarot and Astrology
  • Tarot Reversals
  • Business, Career and Finances
  • Romantic Love and Relationships
  • Health and Well-being
  • Working with the Moon
  • Karma and the Soul's Journey
  • Card associations
  • Tarot and numerology.

Each topic will run for one, two or three sessions, depending on its complexity.

Tarot Meditations: journey through the Major Arcana

A journey through the Tarot cards is primarily a journey into our own depths”
Sallie Nichols – ‘Jung and the Tarot: An Archetypal Journey’

This course is designed for those who wish to develop a much deeper understanding of each archetypal image depicted by these cards.  At the same time participants may gain personal insights and  understandings about themselves, their psychological and spiritual growth.

 Each session will include:

  • examination of the focus card
  • journal work
  • a guided meditation relating to the card  
  • group sharing
  • a Tarot reading activity which includes the focus card.

 This course commences Monday 12th July 2010.
